A Hotel Restaurant Worth Trying

Most people don’t go to hotels specifically for dinner, but, in this case, they’d be missing out. NoMa Social, worth a trip into the Radisson Hotel New Rochelle, is known for tapas, cocktails, and dancing, but it’s so much more than Happy Hour (which is, however, a deal, with $4 tapas and drinks from 4 pm to 8 pm, Monday through Friday). Since his days at Port Chester’s F.I.S.H., Chef Bill Rosenberg has exhibited consistent talent, with a flair for the seasonal.

Radisson Hotel New Rochelle Investing Almost $2 Million in Energy Efficiency

The Radisson Hotel New Rochelle is undergoing almost $2 million in updates to improve the energy efficiency of the 10-story, 129-room property. According to Colby Brock, General Manager of the hotel, the first phase of the renovation included replacing all PTAC units with new, more energy efficient versions with digital controls. The second and most expensive part of the renovation—one costing about a million dollars—was the replacement of the boiler plant with one with digital controls. That upgrade is expected to reduce energy costs by $250,000 a year, gas consumption by more than 35 percent, and emissions by 750 tons annually.

Colby Brock likes to say she has two babies — her 4-month-old daughter, Harlow, and the Radisson Hotel in New Rochelle, where she works as general manager. Brock practically grew up in the business, learning from her father (and role model), Peter Brock, a partner in Brock Development Corp., a family-owned company that specializes in the acquisition, development, redevelopment, management, leasing and maintenance of commercial real estate assets in New York, Florida and other states across the country.
